Operating hours in Chadds Fords are 9 am to 6 pm including all holidays.

The Great Pumpkin Carve

October 18-20th 

at the Chadds Ford Historical Society, 1736 Creek Road, Chadds Ford, PA 

This open air festival features 70 local artists who carve huge pumpkins. These talented carvers sculpt pumpkins that sometimes weigh up to 400 pounds! Pumpkins will be lit and displayed at the end of carving.

Tomatoes and peppers will be around for a little longer but not to long so grab them while you can! We're seeing more winter squash, lima beans and potatoes coming on! SIW Vegetables  is opening up the farm for you explore the grounds on a hayride.  HG will be hosting these rides each weekend through the end of October.  

If you haven't signed-up yet, there is still room on some of the rides.  So, head on over to the stand and put your name down for the weekend that works best for you!


$7.50 per person (2 year-olds and younger are free).  $175 for a private wagon!!!

Times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

It's a Pumpkin Fest!

This is such a great time of year.  The colors are fantastic and there is simply a lot of fun to be had with the family and friends on hayrides (still a few spaces left if you want to sign-up at the stand) and local pumpkin carving contests.  Come on over and pick up a pumpkin and post pictures of what you do with them.  We'd love to see.  And, if you just want to cook with them, here are some great pumpkin recipes!

And we have plenty of Mums, Cornstalks and other decorative items for fall!!!

And yes that is a fig tree.  Brent is working diligently on our fig grove and doing a marvelous job.  Eventhough our figs are in their early stages, they have been producing some tasty tidbits.  We are looking forward to next season for a larger bounty.

Halloween is coming! Time for the Great Pumkins!

Halloween is well on the way at SIW!  Don't miss out on having some of the funkiest pumpkins there are.

Great for Carving, great for stacking, great for eating, I don't know about snacking.  Some of these pumpkins make great pies, as well as soup and great sides for dinner after roasting.  

Ask our staff about them.

 I decided to treat myself to a hayride last weekend and the weather was perfectly autumnal. Highlights: the sun shone, we met our local beekeeper (apiarist for you fancy folk), we sampled some of the last sweet corn for the season (picked within seconds of munching), and we picked pumpkins!
