Big Things Are Happening This Weekend!

We've Added an Extra Crop Mob This Saturday, May 2nd!
Although we've had to modify our Crop Mobs to adjust for this COVID-19 world, they have been quite successful and enjoyable. We've added one more for this Saturday, May 2nd!
We will incorporate social distancing into the program and unfortunately cannot offer lunch. We'd still love to have you join us for a Saturday morning of farm work and fun. Who doesn't want to get out of the house for a few hours?! Come work with our Farmer, HG, and some of the SIW Vegetable crew to prepare the farm for the season. We'll plant onions and work on other "start-of-the-season" farm tasks. It's the perfect opportunity to connect with the earth and get a little dirty!!
This event is FREE and open to the public. Please register so we can have an idea how many are coming to plan enough socially distant activities. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes, clothes that can get dirty and bring a pair of gloves.
Saturday, May 2nd 9 am - 12 noon - please RSVP
To register, phone or email HG: Phone- 610-715-7688 / Email- siwveggies@gmail.com

We're Offering Flats of Veggies at Richardson's Beginning This Weekend!
We've had a number of requests to share HG's plants for folks to grow at home. We have listened to the people and will be selling flats of plants at Richardson's, 644 Yorklyn Road in Hockessin, DE beginning this weekend. Hop over the state line, visit with our good friend, Tyler Richardson, and start planting your victory garden!
Varieties will include: eggplant, tomatoes, peppers, lettuces, cantaloupe, watermelon, cucumber and squash (the plants will be larger than the ones pictured in the photo below!).

Our New Recipe Exchange Kicks Off This Weekend on FB!

Kim Haskell, aka The Farmer's Wife, is starting things off. You'll have to check into our  BRAND NEW SIW VEGGIE RECIPE GROUP @siwveggies on Facebook Saturday morning for the recipe, but we'll give you a hint with the photo below. Cook, enjoy, and be sure to share your photos and review. There's still time to submit your recipe(s) too. We want to hear from our SIW friends! Submit recipes to siwveggies@gmail.com or better yet, join the group and let's start cooking!

A social distancing message from your farmer.

If you're feeling a bit unhinged these days, you're not alone. These are scary times but we're all in it together. We're looking forward to the summer that brings our farm stand opening, the beginning of our fantastic CSA program and our amazing dinners. We do recognize the uncertainty in a national and state timeline for life getting "back to normal". Don't despair, we're working on plans for the farm stand should we need to change the way we've done business in the past but rest assure WE WILL OPEN. We will also monitor the situation and keep you updated on our Field to Fork dinners. Fingers crossed that they can continue, even with potential modifications if necessary. In the meantime, you can support us AND plan for some farm fresh summer produce by signing up for the CSA or SIW Bucks today. We're looking forward to an even more meaningful reunion with all of you at the end of June!

In the meantime, feel free to get grounded the way our Farmer, HG, does....
