Letter from The Farmer

2018 was a year to remember and a year to forget. In any case, 2019 brings with it exciting and mysterious possibilities.
Though we saw the worst farming season in my 33 years of growing fruit and vegetables, there were important milestones to highlight.
We had record rainfall amounts (double normal averages) and a record number of Field to Fork dinners (15 with 4 of those chefs coming from Philly).
I fixed the solar charging system on my crystal ball (mysterious) and it has shown me a little of what 2019 will bring to SIW. Our F2F dinner schedule should be live by mid April with new and old faces in the cook tent. Wilmington, Philadelphia, Ohio, and Hawaii may be represented if all goes right (exciting!).
In the fields, normal sunshine, rainfall and temperature should bring bountiful harvests of your favorite fruits and veggies (50% certainty according to the crystal ball).
Here's to 2019!
